Noah the Pooh

The animals from the Hundred Acre Woods are some of my favorite characters from childhood. Knowing this, my wonderful friend Laura made Noah his very own Pooh outfit. He sure makes a cute Pooh bear. I might have to go have some professional pictures done while he can still fit into this.

Easter

Noah thoroughly enjoyed his first Easter. He received three Easter baskets (Great-Grandma, Grandma & Grandpa, and the bunny). He also enjoyed seeing Auntie Janet and Uncle Bert who came all the way from Iowa.

The bunny brought two books and a Speak and Spin Alphabet Zoo.

Random Photo Friday

Noah in one of his many elephant outfits.  I always thought it was teddy bears, but it appears that elephants are the official sponsor of baby themed apparel.

The look that Noah gave me when I told him the Hawks shut out the Canucks last night.

Does this mean the Hawks might actually win the series? I'll believe it when I see it!

Sweet Potatoes

Since the rice cereal was a fail, we decided to move on to vegetables. I read that sweet potatoes are recommended as a first food because of their sweet flavor. Noah seemed to agree and happily slopped it up until he suddenly grew worried that there wouldn't be any milk at this meal. Next time, we will feed him milk first and then the veggies.

The Bunny

We went to see the Easter Bunny today. There was a breakfast with the bunny across the street from us at the horticulture center. We skipped the breakfast, but arrived just in time to take some pictures. Next year Noah will have to join the other kids with the egg hunt.

Summer Prelude

Since it was so warm this past Sunday and we didn't want to put the AC on, we thought it was the perfect time to try out a cute summertime outfit. Note on the outfit: Grandma Angel purchased it for what I assume was a gift for her future grandchild. I love that her grandson is finally wearing it.

Jumparoo and more

Now that his foot can just barely touch the ground, Noah is spending more time hanging out and jumping in his jumparoo.

He still puts up a big fight when we try to get him to nap. He'll usually just pass out when I least expect it in a position like this:

For a long time now Noah has attempted to grab the bottle out of our hands in an effort to feed himself. He hasn't quite gotten the hang of it yet, but the other day I gave him a super light bottle (that I usually don't use, but I was being lazy) and he was able to finish up the feeding all by himself!

Trimmed

When we had Noah's hair cut back in February we asked that his bangs not be done. They weren't overgrown at the time and we figured it would help hide his little bump. Two months have passed since then and the bangs have started to creep into poor Noah's eyes.

So I trimmed them. And I have never been more confident in my decision to not become a hair stylist.

But at least it's not in his eyes anymore.

A Return to Earth

Noah met with his dermatologist again yesterday. She confirmed that the hemangioma has not gotten any bigger for the second month in a row and that in her opinion it was probably done with the growing phase. But, until it stops being warm to the touch it isn't officially dormant. It will likely stay about the same until around Noah's first birthday and will then start to slowly shrink. I hope it decides to fade away just as quickly as it first appeared!

Noah has become very good at grasping and maneuvering objects lately, so I think it's almost time to retire his first baby toy. His space gym was the very first toy that he took a liking to, but he has become so forceful with it that the poor motor barely gets a chance to work anymore. We'd like to have it for baby number 2 in the future, so we'll probably put it away soon.

It's a little sad to see him outgrowing something, but he is moving on to bigger and better things. He is still working on sitting and he enjoys the activity tray that attaches to his booster seat.
