Summer - Week Seven

Week Seven was a busy one. Charlotte continued with t-ball. This was her second year, so she had a better idea how to play the game. Noah still liked to stand on the field and help.

We missed Charlotte's t-ball pictures due to vacation, so I took some myself in the backyard. She is the cutest t-ball player I've ever seen.

 

 

That evening was Wyatt's birthday party with friends. He requested a ninja party, so I found a local gym that offered a ninja warrior party; however, they only offered it on one night the whole month, so it was slightly before his actual birthday. We assembled the treat boxes the night before.

I bought him an official ninja warrior shirt so he would stand out as the birthday boy.

I couldn't capture any pictures of the action, but I was able to see him do the special ninja flight.

We had pizza, cake, gummy bears, and presents in the party room upstairs.

 He had so much fun partying with his friends and daycare buddies.

The next day, we convinced Charlotte to take a spin on the raptor for the first time.

And since it was a beautiful, hot day, we set up the water slide. Charlotte actually went down it willingly this year.

 

That night we discovered that everyone in the family could roll their tongue but Nick.

I signed CeCe up for the summer session of gymnastics. She loves gymnastics, but we can only do so many activities at one time. So for now this is a summer activity.

On Tuesday night, we went to a firefly hike with the Will County Forest Preserve. Prior to the hike, we made bracelets and did a trivia game.

Not sure why Charlotte isn't wearing shoes, but she thinks it's pretty funny.

Wyatt also kicked around a ball with a couple other kids.

 The boys were excited, so they helped lead off the hike.

After a while, we were spotting fireflies all over. They gave us bug houses to temporarily capture the fireflies so we could study them up close.

Things got a little dicey when we discovered the path was really overgrown, but we all made it out.

Meanwhile, Noah was doing the Art in Nature camp at Pilcher Park all week with his friend Abby. They had so much fun playing in the creek and doing various art projects. The first one is a painted rock.

And one night Karen and I went to the Joliet library for an adult animal show where we were able to meet a sloth named Steve.

Next up (told you this was a busy week), the boys did the kids' race at the Sundowner. Noah ran the 6 and up race and Wyatt won the age 5 race. He really gave it his all. He's quite the competitor.

Wyatt painted this awesome Chicago skyline at his daycare camp one day.

And I inadvertently let Charlotte design her own fine motor activity when she found some safety pins (from the boys' racing bibs) and started hooking them together.
