Illness Report 2016

We have been pretty healthy this winter season so far. We did have one illness go through the house in January. Wyatt caught RSV for the fourth time in 13 months (is that a record?) I took him right away to the doctor before I noticed any breathing difficulty and he gave us a different medicine for his nebulizer to hopefully prevent bronchiolitis.

It worked to keep the virus out of his chest, but two days later he ended up with a terrible sinus infection. He barely stayed awake that Saturday and didn't say two words to us for over 24 hours

So we took him back to the clinic and after only one dose of antibiotics he was already feeling better.

The best part of sickness might be the solo bath time.

Once Wyatt started to feel better, Charlotte came down with RSV. We gave her a couple doses of nebulizer as a precaution, but she handled her first real illness like a champ. Noah had a slight cough and few sniffles, but otherwise wasn't noticeably sick.

After a long week, she started feeling better too

Snowish Day

We still haven't had enough to snow to go sledding this winter. There was one day in mid-January when we had a bit of snow on the ground and a temperature in the 30s so before it melted away we ran outside and had a little snow fun. I even took out our new sled to pull the boys down the front lawn. Noah loved it and I'm so bummed that he may miss his chance to do a real hill this year. Come on snow!!

Bananas

Charlotte tried her first food at five months old. Bananas. She had a few bites and then became more interested in eating her bib. She seemed to like the taste of the bananas, but not the process. We tried food with her two other times at five months, but then decided to shelve it until her six month birthday.

Museum Visit Uno

Instead of more toys to fill the house, Great Grandma bought us a membership to all the local children's museums for the next year. We went on our first visit to the DuPage museum the weekend after New Years. It has been a couple years since we visited this museum - they were actually shut down for half a year due to a water main break - so this is the first time Wyatt was able to explore here. He enjoyed the water table room the most and also flying a pterodactyl puppet around the drawing room. Wyatt was my designated "buddy" in the museum so that's why most of the pictures are of him, but Noah had a great time too.
