Summer Vacation Week 1

The first day of summer vacation, Noah and Nick did the annual fishing derby. The only photo evidence I have is this one with them in the background, but hey it's better than nothing.

The rest of us headed to Wyatt's baseball class that he started in the spring. He wasn't always the best listener, but he had great hustle.

Later that day, we all went to the summer kick-off event at Camp Manitoqua.

 Charlotte convinced us to buy her a piggy bank at the gift shop.

Noah was excited to show his siblings his favorite place at camp: the Pickle Shack. They all picked out ring pops to enjoy.

The second day of summer vacation, we went to the Farmer's Market

And played some backyard baseball

Wyatt started summer camp the first Tuesday of vacation. He was excited to be able to do traditional summer camp where he could play at parks and splash pads and go on field trips.

The next day, Noah went back to his summer camp - the older camp for kids 1st - 7th grade.

Charlotte didn't have a camp, but she had fun regardless.

The boys also got new Cub Scout hats. Wyatt got his official Lion hat and Noah moved up to Wolf. Nick also bought himself a leader shirt as he had agreed to be the leader for Wyatt's den.

Wyatt and Charlotte started their t-ball leagues. At 2 1/2, Charlotte was definitely the smallest member of her 3/4 t-ball team, but also the cutest. Since she qualified to join the team (they changed the rules the year before), I couldn't resist signing her up.

When he wasn't goofing around, Wyatt was a great asset to his team. He had a powerful swing and as previously mentioned, great hustle to get the ball.

Fishing Derby and Juggling

The first weekend in June was the annual fishing derby. Nick and Noah went again to try to catch a big one. They didn't catch him, but they did catch this cute little guy. Funny enough, they ended up sitting right next to one of Wyatt's La Petite friends who recognized Noah and asked where Wyatt was (apparently everyone but us thinks they look exactly alike). Next year, Nick will have to take both boys. Nick and Noah even scored their picture in that week's paper!

While those two were at the derby, I took Wyatt and Charlotte to a juggling show, hosted by the local library. We snagged front row seats and the kids were pretty well behaved during the course of the show. At the end, all of the kids were invited up to try some balancing and juggling of their own with peacock feathers. It was a nice, free event to kick-off our summer.

More for the Fourth

Besides endless fireworks, we also did some other fun activities over the holiday weekend. We stopped by a local pond to do some paddle boating. We took turns because Charlotte was too little to come with. Wyatt wasn't too fond of it and was a little scared, but Noah enjoyed the experience and even was able to pedal a bit.

Later that day, we took the kids mini-golfing. Noah was a mini-golf pro since he had just gone with his Summer Camp. Wyatt did pretty well and we didn't cause 'too' much of a back-up behind us.

Little Missy doesn't look pleased she wasn't allowed to participate.

Our final stop of that day was Red Robin for some balloons and yummy food

On the Fourth we drove out to Winnebago to visit Cheryl who has a home that backs to a beautiful lake. We did a little fishing and stopped over at the Winnebago fair that was in town. The boys each won two prizes. They had their choice of several things, but each time Wyatt wanted exactly the same thing that his brother picked out.
