September Wrap-Up

Before the clock strikes December, let's finish up what other shenanigans we were up to in September.

We played outside in the rain

Made faces at whatever mommy served us to eat

Went to and from Noah's new school at the nature center. A lot.

Visited with Grandpa

Stole daddy's milkshake

Charlotte grew bigger

 

We tried to take a family of five selfie

Noah fell out of bed and severely injured his face

Papa built a dinosaur for Noah

We cried for no reason

We tried on mustaches

We exercised

And Wyatt decided Noah had the better seat in the car

 

Halloween Workshop

The nature center where Noah goes to school had a Halloween ceramic workshop. I always enjoy being able to let the kids paint and get messy outside the house, so we headed over one Saturday. Noah picked a pumpkin mug and I selected a spider for Wyatt. Noah picked all his own colors and went to town on his pumpkin. I gave Wyatt one color and a huge brush and then let him paint his heart out. After they were finished I added on the faces and little black spider boots while they ran around and visited the animals.

The Wolf Sanctuary

Once a year or so we like to visit the Wolf Sanctuary near our house. Besides several different varieties of wolves, they have a cougar, tiger, horse, coyote, and a new animal - a black bear. They also have a huge fluffy dog greeting everyone who enters. We like that it is so close to home and that our admission fee goes directly to the animals.

Rockford

At the end of September, we met our cousins in Rockford for a little museum fun. First, we checked out the Burpee Museum of Natural History. We saw some great dinosaurs and animals and the kids enjoyed building in the children's area.

Afterward, we decided to hit up the children's museum next door since we had some extra time to kill. The kids loved it here. So many great exhibits and it had a wonderful outdoor playground.

The highlight of the museum was finding Wyatt vacuuming a deserted news station. Guess he wants to be a night janitor when he grows up:
