Fireworks Night One - Sox Game

So my darling husband lost a bet to my brother (not a good idea) and his punishment was to dress up like a clown to the Sox game. I'll be honest, I didn't really like him in the clown suit. It was weird. A bunch of kids thought he was really cool, but most people just didn't care. I guess it's normal to be weird at a baseball game. Luckily the clown wasn't distracting to the players and they had a fantastic last minute win in the ninth.

It was also Friday night fireworks at the game and so this kicked off our second annual 'four for the fourth of July' firework extravaganza.

Inaugural Camp Out

Nick took the boys on their very first camping experience in June. Charlotte and I stayed home. They were gone for two days and had an absolute blast. They enjoyed campfires, picnics at the tent, playing at the nearby park and river, and watching movies in the tent. The awesome Costco lantern that I bought them for their trip really came in handy too.

They also went on a few excursions during the day. Since they were somewhere in Indiana, they stopped at Nick's favorite school: Notre Dame University.

They also found a nature center where Noah was selected to dress up as a beaver during the demonstration. The boys can't wait to do it again and now play camp out all the time at home.

Parks and Playtime

I only take pictures occasionally on our trips to the park because we go a lot and there would just be so many pictures. But I do try to take a few in different parks each year to show them growing. These are the double handicap swings at Firefighter park.

Wagon ride around the neighborhood. She loves this wagon.

Ending up at the neighborhood park.

Once in a while we also stop at the little pond during our neighborhood excursions

Getting into a fender bender in the garage

And pushing around this much-loved (by all three of them) lawn mower. Wyatt still runs to get this whenever Nick starts to cut the grass.

Taking turns pushing the little stroller. Charlotte gave her puppy a spin (literally) around in circles. It's too cute, so I posted the video too.

What the Kids do to the House When I'm Working from Home

They raid the leftover party supply bin

Dump cookies all over the floor

Smear yogurt everywhere

And plop it onto the floor

Set up a garage sale and try to get me to pay to get my own stuff back

... nothing like having all of your stuff from an entire floor crammed into the corner of one room

Have a camp out. And yes, you really do need all of these things when you are on a camp out apparently.

A Little Wyatt

Wyatt is a busy guy. He must be so busy that I haven't gotten many solo pictures of him this summer (aside from pictures within specific events and outings). One thing he loves to do is play outside and water my plants for me.

And make a zillion funny faces

He has also been really into riding his balance bike, the one that was Noah's that was never used because Noah didn't like it.

Sometimes he agrees to try out his pedal bike

This is a very Wyatt moment: relaxing on the couch in a shark blanket while eating a "cheese hamburger"

Here he is playing with a new foam rocket that he received from Great Aunt Michele for his birthday

I kept Wyatt home from school one day so we could "watch" the eclipse together. We didn't have glasses, but we watched the live feed on NASA TV. And of course we made sure to wear our NASA and Astro Burger t-shirts for the occasion. I enjoy spending one on one time with each of my little nuggets.
