School Pics

All three of the kids' school pictures turned out adorable this year.

I volunteered at Noah's picture day this year, so they gave me a discount on pictures. Since I couldn't decide, I decided to get several different poses.

A Skeleton, A Dragon, and A Tiger

For Trunk or Treat this year, I went with a spider theme. It wasn't very elaborate, I just hung some spiderweb, placed some spiders in the trunk, and wore a light-up spider headband. The large orange spider lit up, which looked neat after the sun went down.

The kids all wore "easy" costumes to Trunk or Treat. Charlotte wore her brother's puppy costume and the boys wore their pajama costumes.

Noah's friend Abby stopped by to see us

I liked that part of Wyatt's costume was his light-up Minecraft sword (from fourth of July last year) because I could still track him in the dark as he ran around with the other kids.

Afterwards, we went out for dinner in our costumes.

On Halloween day, I dropped off Noah at school and then later met him there to do his class party.

This was my sad attempt at a balloon spider.

For the craft, we made Jack Skellington paper lanterns.

The kids were so excited to start trick or treating later that afternoon.

For costumes this year, Noah dressed as Miguel from Coco (a Disney movie that he really liked). I wish I could have reused the red hoodie from his Elliott costume from two years ago, but sadly it was just a little too small. Aside from the painted face, it was basically the same costume. I bought him skeleton gloves and he used a little red guitar that we already owned.

Wyatt was almost The Flash, but switched to a dragon at the last minute. His tail detached, which was helpful for sitting. His dinosaur costume from two years ago was impossible to sit in.

Charlotte wanted to be Baby Margaret from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. She chose this way back in the spring and never wavered. The only problem was that nobody made a Baby Margaret costume. I found a felt Baby Margaret mask on Etsy and then decided she could just dress in Baby Margaret's most common outfit - a yellow dress and a dark pink cardigan. Margaret wears purple shoes, so I also had Charlotte wear her purple boots. It came out better than I expected and she was so excited to put it on. I had her pose with her Baby Margaret doll to help people understand who she was.

After I took their pictures they ran off to play on the swing set. They looked so cute standing together on the swings, it was almost as if I had posed them.

We had lots of fun trick or treating on a nice, mild Halloween night.

And we got an outrageous amount of candy

A Spooky Time of Year

As Halloween grew nearer, we went on a spooky house hunt with some friends

We did a Halloween fun night at Cosley Zoo where we trick or treated, played games, visited the animals, did crafts, painted pumpkins, and went on a couple rides.

We raked up the leaves in the yard

We went to visit the musical Halloween tree at the Promenade

I dressed up like an opossum and handed out "pumpkin poop" to Charlotte and her Little Sprouts classmates

Noah went on a field trip to Dollinger's with his class and picked out a little pumpkin. Nick met him at school two days later to help carve his pumpkin.
