Making Cupcakes

Noah has been really into cooking lately. He likes "baking" things in the oven, playing with his birthday cake, setting up indoor picnics, and his newest endeavor: making cupcakes. This was accomplished by stirring cupcake liners in a salad bowl.

Food For Wyatt

We finally got Wyatt started on some solid food a couple weeks ago. First up on his list was bananas. He didn't cry like Noah did when we started giving him solids, but he wasn't quite sure if he liked it or not.

The next week I whipped up some oatmeal for him.

I also began giving him some non-pureed bananas and avocados in his handy silicone feeder. As he bites down, little bits of the food come up through the holes giving him a little taste. It also allows him to feed himself and massage his gums at the same time.

Tracing

Noah has been practicing with his pre-school workbooks. Here he is doing a tracing activity.
We're still working on holding a pen correctly.

Tripod

Wyatt can "tripod" sit (using his hands in front to balance) and just recently can sit without using any support, but is still a little unstable and requires someone there to keep him from toppling over when he gets too excited.

Christmas Pics

I had the boys do another professional photo-op for their first Christmas together. We had to wait until after Christmas because it was just one sickness after the other - and Wyatt even came down with the stomach flu the morning of this session, but we still went. I was so nervous he was going to puke on the photo girl. Luckily, they are adorable as usual. Some of them are a little grainy because I didn't actually order them and just stole borrowed them from the website.

Snow Blob

Nick took Noah out after the first snowfall of the season and tried to make a snowman. Since it wasn't great packing snow, he turned into more of a snow blob.

Easy Bake Oven

We ordered some cookie trays as a gift this Christmas, but before we had a chance to give them Noah decided to give them a test run and "bake" some of his toys on them in our oven

Le Artiste

Noah got out his paint smock the other day and had fun doing a little painting with his new Christmas paint set. He had a little trouble not mixing the colors on the palette, so we will have to work on that.

5 months

Wyatt turned 5 months old after Christmas. I forgot to mention his weight at his four month appt, but he is probably between 16.5 and 17 pounds right now. He's mostly in 6-9 month clothes, although a few 3-6 outfits still fit (like the one below). He might be getting some teeth because he stuffs everything in sight into his mouth and he really really really wants to eat solid food. I wanted to wait until he was 6 months old, but we might give the guy a break and start him at 5 1/2. He's had a long winter already having had the flu, a head cold, pink eye, a bad cough, and a stomach bug, but he almost always has a smile on his face in spite of it.

Noah photo-bombed our session

And Wyatt tried to eat the bear.
