Wyatt's Baptism

Just one week shy of the 3rd anniversary of Noah's baptism, Wyatt finally had his. He wore my grandfather's baptismal gown (which he wore in 1919) and halfway through the event he pooped all over it. Thankfully we were not the first ones called up and were able to at least change the diaper. And Noah slept right through the entire thing. It was great having a happy reason to get the family all together.

Size 4

It's quite obvious that Wyatt is a little chunkier than his brother so it's no surprise that he has been growing out of his diapers a lot sooner. Since about November we have been using Pampers Swaddlers Size 3 and according to the weight on the box they should be fitting Wyatt no problem. But as you can see, we started running into a little problem.

Not only does this create opportunities for me to take embarrassing pictures of Wyatt (and post them on the internet), but it also leads to our good old friend - the blow-out. Nobody has time for that. But I was reluctant to put him in size 4s because it just seemed like it was way too soon. Three year old Noah was just wearing 4s this past summer and could probably still fit into them. And Wyatt wasn't even close to the starting weight for the next size up. Another reason I was hesitant was that Pampers only made Swaddlers up through size 3. This mean I would have to switch him to another line and lose that wonderful "wet strip" on the front that lets you know if the diaper is wet.

Luckily, Pampers recently decided to begin offering their Swaddlers in size 4 and 5 and I was given the opportunity to sample them thanks to Crowdtap.

So I picked up a bag of Swaddlers size 4s last week and Wyatt was eager to model the results.

I was expecting them to be way too big on him, but as you can see they seemed to fit perfectly. The next step was waiting to see how well they held in a deposit. After using them now for the past four days we have had no leakage and no blow-outs. Sadly, I still have to finish my last box of 3s, but I've already changed my Amazon subscription and look forward to a less mess-filled future.

And Wyatt is happy about that too.

Christmas in January

A couple weeks ago we finally took our annual family photo by the Christmas tree. We couldn't get Wyatt to look at the camera, except for this one where he is crying.

Immediately after our picture we started taking down the decorations. Noah objected to Christmas ending, so he then attempted to string the garland back on the staircase.
