Fall School Pictures

The boys had their school pictures taken in November and I just recently got them back. They both look so handsome. I was also on hand for Wyatt's class picture, which was a bit chaotic.

Giving

We started a tradition this year where we do a Season of Kindness around Thanksgiving. Noah's school gave us little packets to drop anonymously for neighbors and friends to let them know why we appreciate them. The anonymous part didn't go over too well as all three spotted us. There was snow and ice on the ground so that slowed our departure down some. We almost got away with it one time, but our next door neighbor's dog tracked us down. Noah seemed to think this was pretty fun although I'm not sure he understood the 'why' of it.

The next day we went shopping to 'Pack a Shoebox' for a less fortunate child somewhere in the world. It's a program through Samaritan's Purse where you donate items that will fit in one shoebox for a specific age child to receive at Christmas. We chose to pack for a boy ages 2-4 since that's who our shopping buddies were. The boys enjoyed picking out some fun (and also practical) things.

When we got home, Noah helped me fit everything into the shoebox. We gave a pad of drawing paper, crayons, markers, pencils, Go Fish, a bar of soap, a Mickey Mouse stamp set, a Ninja Turtle ball, toothbrushes, Snoopy underwear, Paw Patrol socks, a Minion activity set, a whistle, and a Panda. Noah also helped put the tracking label on the box and then we dropped it off at a nearby church. On Christmas Eve we found out our box was being delivered to a boy in Tanzania. We hope he likes it!

Novemberings

Happy New Year! I may not have caught up the blog, but I'm getting there. One of my resolutions is to be more timely with my posts.

I may be home on maternity leave, but the boys are still attending their daycare twice a week. Their school started a new app in November that tells me what the boys are up to all day. I know exactly what they eat, when the sleep, what activity they are doing, what their moods are, how many times they are changed, and they also sometimes send pictures. It's nice to see Noah does end up participating because when I drop him off he stands in the doorway and is too shy to join the other kids.

 

This picture is Noah in his Little Sprouts classroom. He loves that place so much I haven't even gotten out of the room before he is engaged in an activity.

When I pick them up from daycare, they often run ahead and into the Motor Room where I sometimes let them play for a few minutes before we head home.

We had Wyatt's one year check-up for his food allergies. His testing showed that his egg allergy actually decreased a bit, which means giving him some egg in baked goods has actually been working. Good news, but of course he is still allergic so no actual egg. His peanut allergy showed an increase so we'll keep avoiding that. His tree nut allergy was pretty low so if we wanted we could introduce some of those to see how he does. I think we may hold off until he is a little older. Here's a fun picture of me trying to keep the kids under control in the room by using suckers. Appointments by myself with all three of them are pretty rough.

One windy day I had to find an alternate route into the nature center to pick up Noah. Good thing they kept the kids inside that day because this happened during the two hour period of time when he was in class.

Charlotte had her first stay in a hotel when we went up to Fond du Lac to visit my aunt and uncle.
