Summer's End

As I wind down our summer, here are some other things we were up to.

We went on bike rides

We cleaned our feet in the sink

We cheered daddy on in a race and ran the mini-race

We went to a wedding

We hung up a new backpack organizer

Celebrated Father's Day and Summer Birthdays

 Played with our stomp rocket and water squirter

Pushed little sister on the trike

Ate dinner in the clubhouse

Used our kinetic sand and put together puzzles

Took Wyatt to see his first movie in the theatre: The Secret Life of Pets.

Participated in a baby contest

Took lots of naps

Went to a few concerts

Had an end-of-summer ice cream outing

Sifted arrowheads

And someone gave themselves an interesting haircut

We love you summer! See you next year!

Summer Birthday Excursion

Our annual summer birthdays get-together was held in Rockford this year, so prior to meeting for dinner, we popped in at the Rockford Children's Museum. I really like this museum and my favorite part is the outdoor section. Lots of climbing, digging, and water play.

The inside is two stories of activities. The boys like the imaginative play the best still.

Last Zoo Trip

Our zoo membership ran out in August and we didn't renew right away, so this was our last zoo trip for the year.

Finally got a picture of all three kids with the lion. Next year we will try to hoist Charlotte onto the lion.

On this trip we took a route less-traveled and visited the Okapi territory

And we also discovered the last remaining elephants in the zoo

Watching pennies go swirly twirly. I now bring a handful of pennies with on our trips here just for this reason

Checking out some cool yellow frogs, huge tortoises, and a really large snake.
