Drumstick Dash

I haven't had a chance to post Noah's birthday party pics yet because I've been sick this entire week with some stomach bug. I am finally feeling better so I hope to get them up soon. In the meantime, we went to cheer daddy on at his first 5K this morning - the Drumstick Dash.

Bears

Like us, Noah is a huge Bears fan.

The Toddler

Noah is now officially a toddler, although he isn't toddling quite yet. We had our one year check-up yesterday. He is 18 pounds even and just over 29 1/2 inches (5th percentile and 75th percentile). He continues to be long and very lean. We have to work on fattening him up a bit.

Here's what Noah is up to as a one year old:

-Crawling everywhere, and he is very quick. He loves to crawl up the stairs in particular.
-Can now get down off a chair or the couch by lowering himself backwards.
-Loves to rock in his rocking chair.
-Pulls himself up and loves to stand, but not quite sure of himself enough to let go.
-Walks great with his walker and while holding onto our hands, but does not like when we try to let go of one.
-Babbling all the time. Still haven't heard what I would classify as "the first word" yet, but he has his own baby language and he clearly understands us when we say certain things.
-Doing great with his fine motor skills. Can attach two blocks together, dunk a basketball in the net, throw things, and yesterday he put the cap back on his bottle when he was done.
-Loves to play with the doors.
-Now has three teeth (two upper and one lower) and is working on three more. Drool is everywhere.
-Is wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes, but still fits in 6-9 month shirts and pants (he has no waist).
-For some reason, loves to take his "medys" (iron supplement), which is great because we have to give it to him twice a day.
-Mostly off baby food and eats regular food. He has become very picky lately and will now reach in his mouth to throw out what he doesn't like. Most food ends up on the floor and not in his tummy. His favorites currently are cheese and crackers. He likes apple juice out of a sippy cup, but still prefers his bottles.
-Likes to read himself stories and will sit and listen now that his attention span has gotten longer.
-Enjoys taking baths. Now tries to stand and grab at the faucet and water stream.
-Absolutely loves other little kids. Will stare at them and wave. However, he has a personal bubble and does not like when his toddler buddies at daycare get too close.
-Claps when he's happy and when he sees other people clapping.
-Likes to ride in his wagon, but doesn't like to be put in his car seat (although he's fine once you strap him in).
-Smiles all the time and is generally a very happy guy.
-Doesn't sit still for a second, which could explain why he's so skinny!
