I can't believe it, but Noah is now TWO years old. He's running and talking and always very, very busy.
He got an almost perfect report from his toddler teachers at school. The only thing they say he doesn't understand is quantitative concepts like big and small, although he sure loves to say the word "big". They said he also doesn't convey the need to change out of wet clothes (for instance if he went down a wet slide outside), but I think he is just too busy exploring and having fun to care.
He says tons of words, too many to count. He doesn't always say them well and sometimes he only says half of the word, but we understand him the majority of the time. For instance potty is "pah ee" without the t's and TV is just "T".
He is working on a lot of two word phrases such as, "not nice", "love you", "hi/bye daddy", "night night mommy", "please daddy"
Still doesn't say his own name (although he knows our real names) and lately has been referring to himself as simply "baby". He can; however, perfectly pronounce the name of his favorite little Canadian boy on TV, Calliou.
He still mostly makes the noise of an animal instead of saying the animal's name, but he does say lion (aka li li), goat, doggy, and some others.
His favorite things right now are the Winnie the Pooh characters, trains and trucks, chocolate milk, and reading books.
Still loves to build things and throw balls.
Likes to be clean. He is constantly asking to wash his hands.
Has been sleeping in his big boy toddler bed since his 2nd birthday and he loves it. Occasionally he falls out of bed and we find him on the floor in the morning. One time I saw him sleeping on the floor in the middle of the night and left him since he was on his nap mat. The next morning he had climbed back into bed.
Sleeps from about 8:00 pm to 7:00 pm and still takes two hour naps (on average). He stays in bed calling "mommy", "daddy", and alternating until one of us goes in to get him.
He stopped using his pacifier cold turkey at the end of September when we stopped giving it to him. And it didn't bother him at all.
Finally got another new tooth - a front bottom one. We hadn't seen a new one pop up for about 9 months. He doesn't like to get his teeth brushed. He will be going to the dentist for his first visit in January.
Still a very very very fussy eater, but he weighs 26 pounds now (30th percentile), is 34 3/4 inches (60th percentile), and he has a 95th percentile head.
Still wearing size 4 diapers, 24 month pants, 24 month shirts as well as some 2T shirts. He's in his last set of onesies as they don't make them past the 24 month size (that I've seen).
He really is the sweetest boy. He never gets into any trouble at school and his teachers there asked me if I can make a dozen more just like him. Hah!
