Three and a Quarter

The monthly picture is traditionally done for babies up until they turn one. When Noah turned one I felt like he was still so much a baby that I had to keep going. By his 2nd birthday I still couldn't decide so I just did it for another year. As his third birthday approached I kept thinking, how long am I going to make him do these monthly birthday sessions? Will he be 16 years old and I'm still making him pose for this picture? That seems ridiculous, but still I wasn't ready to let it go. So I changed the rules.

We are now doing quarterly pictures, still with the static object (his giraffe), but instead of sitting in the same spot on the recliner chair we can incorporate something fun that's going on in that moment. So on the 10th of February we trekked very carefully out to the backyard. Very carefully because as you can see the snow was almost up to Noah's hips. It probably was up to his hips, but since he doesn't weigh very much he didn't sink completely down in the snow.

And we took our three-and-a-quarter picture sitting on our snow-covered swing set.

In case you haven't checked on it in a while, I still update the Noah growth page on the blog with every single one of these pictures. (Click on the "Noah" tab or on his picture.)

Beach Party

Since winter is dragging so slowly, we decided to have a fun day and dress up in our summer clothes and pretend to have a beach party.

Sledding

It's been a very snowy winter, but it's also been a very cold winter so we've only had one opportunity to take the boys out sledding. Wyatt didn't actually go sledding (obviously) but we did strap him into the baby sled and tugged him around for a few minutes.

Noah wasn't too keen on sledding this year

Because the snow got between his mittens and his coat and touched his skin

So Nick decided to go down with him and then he started having a great time
