Wyatt Starts

A week after Noah, Wyatt started Pre-K at his daycare. He was very, very excited.

He had to buy a "big boy" back pack that was large enough to fit folder and binders and had an actual lengthy school supply list (which is why his backpack is so weighed down).

There are two pre-k rooms at the school and Wyatt was assigned to 4/5 East with Miss Ashley and Miss Ashley (How will we ever remember that?) He is ready to start learning his numbers and letters!

A week after that, Wyatt started his second year at Little Sprouts. He got a new forest themed backpack for the occasion. At just over four years old, Wyatt is now one of the oldest (and experienced) students in the class, but in comparison, he is still almost a year younger than Noah was when he started Little Sprouts.

Off to First

Shortly after vacation, Noah and I headed over to his new school to meet his teacher and check out his classroom. In first grade, he gets his own desk with his name on it. (In Kindergarten, they all sat at a communal table).

Noah had spent summer camp at the park across the street from the school and occasionally had after care inside the building, so it was nice that he was already familiar with it.

 His graduation shirt is still ridiculously long

 Noah was excited to start first grade because he felt like a big kid going to a new school

Especially since it was the school that the older boys across the street attend. This year they are all on the bus together. That won't happen again until Noah is in fourth grade. Noah wanted the Hulk or Spiderman for his backpack this year, so I searched high and low and found this really nice quality Hulk back pack at the Disney store.

Off they go! One in third, one in second, and one in first. The only kids in primary school on our street.

The first day of school was also Eclipse Day, so the school had emailed us to let us know they had purchased eclipse glasses for all of the children and were going to let them outside to view it. I really emphasized to Noah that he could not remove the glasses or let them slip off his face when he was looking up at the sun, so this picture that the school district posted really made me laugh. At least his glasses are on very securely!

Summer's End

Once we returned from vacation, the rest of August flew by quickly.

Charlotte started to do this over the summer:

So we decided to do this. At first she was upset and kept saying that Daddy broke her bed

But she did end up liking it and had no problems sleeping in her toddler bed that night

 

Charlotte really enjoyed the little gears that Great Aunt Michele bought her for her birthday

Noah finally lost his first tooth. It popped out at dinner one night and he proudly showed it off to everyone at Great Grandma's 99th birthday lunch

We made a quick trip to Iowa to visit cousins and so the boys could ride in a fire station truck in a parade. Charlotte thought the parade was overrated, until she began to receive candy. And she's such a princess, they were hand-delivering it directly to her lap.

Here come the boys! We were only able to see Owen and Noah as Jaxson and Wyatt (and Nick) were on the other side of the vehicle. This was Noah and Wyatt's first time in a parade and they really enjoyed it - especially getting to throw candy out the window.

Aunt Lynda found a kitten and brought him home with her

Wyatt drew these two little stick people. He's starting to draw actual objects, which is so exciting!
