Field Museum

We spent another Easter at a museum, this time the Field with Uncle Kurt.

Wyatt was super anxious to see the dinosaurs. When we finally arrived in the big dinosaur room, he shouted, "Finally!"

They removed Sue the dinosaur from the main floor and are moving her to a new space near the other dinosaurs. We got to take a peek at the construction.

They really loved the bright pictures in here.

Video:

Nick was our map reader. At one point he announced we were headed to the Planets of the World, but we ended up somewhere a little different.

Not surprisingly, we were the only people in the exhibit

The kids had fun with some interactive exhibits, running around in some kind of hut, and exploring a lava field.

And then we spent quite a bit of time wandering around (and getting lost in) the animal exhibit. Seriously, it was huge.

Wyatt thought the baboon butts were hysterical

CeCe still imitates Wyatt with great precision. Wyatt lied down on the floor, so she did too. Then he flipped to his side and put his hands on his head. As you can see, she's pretty accurate.

Still smiling after a long day at the museum

Someone finally passed out.

Since it was fairly close, we decided to walk to Giordano's for our annual dinner

Easter

We gave each of them four eggs to color this year. Charlotte was very careful and only cracked one.

I told Noah my old trick of doing a two-colored egg, so he wanted to try it out. It requires some patience since you have to hold the egg halfway in the dye.

But in the end, it was worth it

I made reservations (yup, they started doing that) for the bunny at the mall in Schaumburg and we swung by there on the way to my dad's house. It came out really well.

The next day, the Easter Bunny brought Noah a gaming chair, Monopoly Junior (Yo Kai Watch version), Spot-It Camping version, and the movie CoCo. He brought Wyatt a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, a transforming ice vehicle, the movie ET, and a glow in the dark football toy. He brought Charlotte a bubble leaf blower, a bubble wand, Elmo letters, a wearable doll carrier, and some bunny crayons. He brought everyone jelly beans, chocolates, and two squishies (the "it" item of the year).

The boys went on the egg hunt first

And then checked out their loot

Egg Hunts

We participated in two egg hunts this year. The first was at a local ice cream shoppe with the possibility of winning some free ice cream. It was a crazy mad dash to pick up the eggs and we did not find a lucky egg.

Our second egg hunt was the following weekend at a local nursery. It was a little more relaxed; every child got to pick up five eggs - so there was plenty for everyone. Wyatt was at baseball class, so Noah and Charlotte collected his five for him.

There was a bunny there that Charlotte insisted on seeing. Once it was finally our turn, as expected, she didn't want anything to do with the bunny.
