South Haven

We went to South Haven, Michigan for family vacation this year. We wanted to go somewhere close by in case I happened to go into early labor. South Haven has a cute downtown area with shops and restaurants that we enjoyed exploring. Our favorite stops were the ice cream shoppe and Clementine's restaurant.

A few blocks from our house there was a great park for kids

We spotted some interesting orange-billed brown geese while lunching at the marina one day. It turns out we aren't the only ones who dislike Canadian geese.

South Haven also had a cute little red lighthouse that we wandered down to see

The house we rented was called Sweet Pea Cottage. It was a very nicely remodeled bungalow with a great screened in porch and back yard only three blocks from the beach.

One evening we enjoyed a peaceful bonfire in the back yard.

Another night we celebrated Papa's birthday

We also enjoyed strolling down to South Haven beach, which was only a short walk from the house

We also checked out a state park beach a couple miles from town

A sunny day at the beach always seemed to tucker little Wyatt out

Catch Up

We're back from vacation and recovered from yet another bout of stomach flu (are we done for the year yet?) Here is a little of what has been going on in our house lately.

Wyatt enjoys brushing his own teeth

And eating corn on the cob

The Toddler classroom had a camping theme on their door for the spring

The boys and I went on a nature hike

And they helped us spread mulch in the yard

 We made a Noah sandwich

We celebrated Mother's Day

Had quite a few disagreements over designated bed times

The boys watched the Blackhawks win another Stanley cup, this one for their little sister.

Wyatt hung out for a little while in Noah's pre-school class on his last day of the "school year".

Thanking the person who put this kid corral little school bus in the shoe store to keep the boys contained while I tried to find a pair of water shoes that would fit on Wyatt's chubby baby feet

Noah was so excited about vacation he had his back pack all packed up and ready to go a day early and was not happy that I told him we couldn't leave quite yet.

First and Last

Noah had his last day of pre-school today. Technically he will still be in the pre-school class for "summer camp", but this was his last day of the official school year. I can't believe how much older he looks.
