Little Miss Has Been Growing

It's been a while (a great while) since I've done a growth post for Charlotte. Her last update was at 9 months old, so let's head back to June when Charlotte turned 10 months old. Just a warning, I have quite the stockpile of Charlotte pictures so this is going to be a little long.

10 month old Charlotte was very spunky. She was cruising like a boss, started to wear her hair up in a little ponytail, and started to stand unassisted. She decided to give up baby food completely at this point (because yuck) and was eating regular people food.

Eleven month old Charlotte could now stand from a sitting position and stand unassisted. She was really interested in her books and toys (mostly her brother's toys). Since she was now standing, she started to wear actual shoes.

And then Charlotte turned 12 months old. She had her official measurements accompanied by Nick (since I started a new job and couldn't take off). She grew to nearly 30" and weighed 21 pounds, 8 ounces. We really thought she was going to walk by her first birthday because she was just so close, but took her time and started towards the end of her twelfth month. We discovered she's slightly mischievous like one of her brothers, but usually has a very sweet, good-natured disposition. She loves to play with her toys: pushing around her stroller and getting involved in her Little People in a way that the boys never did. She also really loves her big brothers and is excited that she can start to play and do activities with them.

This outfit above was a hand-me-down from a friend and what is so neat about it is that it's the exact same outfit I put on Charlotte to come home from the hospital in. It was her very first outfit (aside from the hospital shirt) and so it is so fitting that she was able to wear it again for her first birthday.

Pow Wow Party

We did our first (of many) combined birthday parties for Wyatt and Charlotte. It was a Pow Wow - Boho theme and Charlotte dressed for the occasion. I did a few pre-party shots of the birthday kids in front of the teepee. As I'm working on these today I am realizing just how much her hair has grown since she turned one less than two months ago.

For the party, we had two teepees set up in our camp (the colorful one is my own teepee from childhood)

We did an arrowhead dig in the sandbox

Made our own "spirit animals"

And played pin the arrowhead on the buffalo. Noah did pretty well (you know what a knack he has for this game), but it was cousin Jaxson who won this round.

Uncle Dennis brought some noisemakers, which were a big hit (with the kids)

Charlotte enjoyed her first birthday cake (although it was not her first cake as we know)

Noah photo-bombed this one

Charlotte had her own pink arrow smash cake

And of course there were lots of lovely presents some highlights being that Wyatt got a red Paw Patrol bike and a Mickey Mouse suitcase for our upcoming Disney trip. Charlotte got lots of Little People sets, princesses and Minnie Mouses, and a sweet ladybug ride-on.

Here is a good shot of poor Charlotte's eyes after she got cake in them.

Thanks to all who helped make the birthday party a fantastic event
