Glen Arbor

Glen Arbor is the main town near the dunes and we ended up spending a couple of days walking the streets there. One of the highlights of the village is Cherry Republic. They have a cafe, a store, and a wine (and pop) tasting room. Every product for sale is made with cherries. Cherry pie, cherry covered chocolate, cherry wine, cherry pop, cherry salsa, cherry sausage, cherry trail mix, cherry bread, etc. And they had tons of free samples. We loved this place so much we went back twice and ended up bringing home a nice bottle of cherry Riesling.

One day we stopped by in time to watch the cherry pit spitting competition. While none of us decided to enter, we did practice our pit spitting afterwards and discovered that we really stink at pit spitting. Noah thought this was great fun.

We also found this cute little local bookshop (a book lovers paradise) and Noah found a cozy nook to curl up in
