Huge Mega Post!

Today is the last day of July and wouldn't you know it, I haven't posted a single picture from July! We celebrated July 4th at the Lisle Eyes to the Skies (Balloon) Festival.

Noah and his friend Kurt are so cute now that they are acting like real friends and not just two boys of a similar age that we put together once in while. They even jumped into a golf cart (a different one) and tried to steal it! Well, Noah pulled on the brake and it started to roll away with him inside. Big trouble these two!

And here is the next round of trouble makers.

The boys spent a good ten minutes having the best time playing with this stick. A random kid from another group even joined in for a while.

We didn't think Wyatt could make it to fireworks, so we raced home to the Jewel parking lot to catch our show at home. Wyatt could then sleep in the car while we sat outside and enjoyed the show. We also randomly ran into our neighbors who had parked right in front of us!

Afterwards, we set off a few fireworks of our own and tried to send up this Chinese lantern. It had a hole, so it was all lopsided and pathetic looking. As we were watching our sad little lantern float away all of a sudden a huge group of perfect lanterns came floating by. Show-offs.

One weekend we met up with friends at the Frankfort Farmer's Market. It was also the Bluegrass Festival so we spent a really pleasant morning walking around the market, sipping smoothies, and having lunch.

The older kids enjoyed reminiscing about the plague playing Ring Around the Rosie

Later that day we got the baby pool out (for the first time since summer has been kind of a bummer) and let the boys splash and squirt each other. Wyatt really loves the pool - and the bathtub too. I tried to put him in Noah's 12 month swim trunks, but he has quite the baby butt so he had to make do with just a swim diaper.

Wyatt dried off afterwards in his swing

It was actually 90 degrees out for my last day off with the boys, so I took them to the local Splash Pad. I assumed Wyatt would love it since he loves water so much, but he absolutely hated it. He cried and clung to me like I was about to feed him to the wolves. Noah, however, really enjoyed the splash pad this year. I had to dig out Noah's 24 month bathing suit for Wyatt to wear. And it was actually pretty snug!

Meals are pretty messy around here. Here is what happens to our clean kitchen after one single meal time in this house. Exhausting. And now you know why I haven't had time to post.
