Curious George Comes For a Visit

Noah's Kindergarten class does a really fun 'get to know me' activity. One week of the school year you are the class Star of the Week. The weekend before your week, you put together a poster board all about your family. Here is what we came up with:

On Monday of your week, you drop off your poster to hang in the classroom and you get to bring home Curious George and a journal. During his weeklong stay, you take pictures of your activities together and then write about his visit in the journal. Here is Curious George having just arrived in our home.

First things first, we had an indoor picnic with him. He chose to eat a banana.

The next day we took Curious George to the pumpkin patch (see prior post) and he joined us for Noah's favorite pasta dinner.

On Wednesday we had dentist appointments scheduled, so Curious George got to tag along.

Later that day, Curious George joined us for Wyatt's Park District t-ball class

On our last night with George, we took him along to get Noah a haircut since Picture Day was the following day.

He was very patient and he was rewarded with a root beer lollipop.

For our final activity, Noah and George got to watch a movie (Curious George of course) and enjoyed some popcorn

We had a blast including George in our busy week and Noah really enjoyed this special activity. One day he also got to bring an item from home to do a secret show-and-tell. He selected a wax hippo from the zoo and gave clues such as "I am made of wax", "I am from the zoo", and "My name starts with an H." A couple kids were able to successfully guess what his object was. And here are the journal pages that we added to his class book.
